Skincare: Winter 2015

Happy Sunday everyone! Today I wanted to do a quick post about what I've currently been using for skincare so far this winter.  I am in no way a beauty expert or anything like that, but this is what I have been using.  Some of these products, like the face wash, I have been using for a while now, and then my Origins products are rather new to me.  I got a Sephora set for Christmas as a gift and in it there were four different skincare products.  I was in need of a moisturizer before I got it and so I was happy to try these out, and so far I've really liked them. I also got a face wash in the box but I haven't actually tried it yet! I need to though!

Purity by Philosophy: This has been my favorite face wash for a quiet a while now.  A little bit goes a long way, so this bottle has lasted me since I tried it and here's hoping it last me a while longer.  I've taken breaks from using it now and then but I've always kinda ended up coming back to it! I like it because it doesn't seem to dry my skin out like other face washes that I have tried. It also removes makeup pretty nicely so that I don't need to use a makeup remover and a face wash.

Eau Roma Water: I've had my toner since Black Friday this year and so far I really like it. I have a friend who worked at Lush for the holidays and she suggested it to me.  I use it after I wash my face with the face wash I mentioned above and anytime before I put on any moisturizer. It's refreshing to use so sometimes I just use it if I feel like my face needs a pick me up.

Origins GinZing eye cream and moisturizer: Before I put my makeup on in the morning I like to use the two products above: the first being for under eyes and the second being a moisturizer.  I like how smoothly they help my foundation and other makeup go on and even though I have only been using them for a short time I haven't had any problems with either of these products yet. Side note they have a citrusy smell to them which I've really been enjoying.

Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins: After I wash my face at night and put on my toner I put this on before I go to bed.  I like feeling like my skin didn't dry out while I was sleeping or after I washed my face and I think it works well with the products that I have been using in the morning.  Much like the two products that I mentioned above I love the smell and in the short time that I have been using them I haven't had any problems with this product.

I hope you enjoyed this slightly different post and if so maybe I will do some more of them in the the future! I hope you had a great weekend and have a great week.

XOXO

lets talk hair

lets talk hair

I've always liked dying my hair.  So much that currently my hair is in a resting stage.....aka giving my hair a breather before I some how fry it again with my next idea.  However, that doesn't stop me from looking at ways for me to dye my hair in the future.  Thanks to Pinterest I can forever get more and more ideas of ways to torture my hair.  So I present to you...Ombre. Yes, I know, you already know what it is.  Everyone does, its that current trend that is slowly running its course.  So anyways, I present to you lovely readers, the next mission for my hair (after a few deep conditionings and some major r and r). About a month ago I died my hair ombre blue and it faded super fast and a few months before that I tried to ombre it darker on the bottom but it didn't show up.  therefor I am hoping the next time i try this that it actually works

What is your favorite hair trend? Let me know in the comments below.

All That Glitters Usually is Gold

I've always liked glittery nail polishes such as O.P.I.'s "Which is Witch" "Polka.com" and "I reached my gold!" but what about something a little different?  How about using actual glitter….
I decided to try it out and take you guys along for the ride.

First I painted all of my fingers in the color of my choice
Then I sprinkled glitter in the color of my choice over my ring finger on both hands.
My one mistake I made was putting the topcoat on too soon cause then I ended up with glitter everywhere! So just wait a little longer then usual to put the topcoat one!

Lemme know how it goes if you try it out:)

Olive You

When ever I am on the internet such as Tumblr or Pinterest, I always see pictures of different things from The Body Shop.  I do not have a store anywhere near me so the first time I tried something form them was over the summer when I went to visit my friend who lives in New Jersey.
Then the other day I was at the mall (at Forever 21), and I happened to look across the mall and I saw it...The Body Shop. Of course since we have never had one before I had to go check it out and of course, I had to get something.

This is the Olive Oil body scrub and it smells insanely good. I know the olive oil is supposed to be good for your skin so I thought that I would check it out!
Enjoy!

Red Nails....

Since Christmas is coming up and it is the perfect season to wear red nails I decided to show you guys my favorite red nail polish for the fall.
This color is A-List by Essie and I absolutely love it.
I have had it a while so I'm not sure if they still make it, but I'm sure that you could find something like it.
Hope you enjoyed:)

Winter Nails

So as of today I am in the Christmas spirit.  It started out when I was on the way to one of my classes and the only radio station that didn't have commercials on it was the Christmas station.  So I started to listen to it and then suddenly I was hooked.  As soon as I got home I had to go find my Trans-Siberian Orchestra to put in my car.
Also it doesn't help that were I live it has snowed once already.  It didn't stick or anything but hey snow is snow right?

So anyways I decided to paint my nails in a wintery snowing feel.

And to make it even more snowy I took the pictures in feather!!

Hope you enjoyed

Nails on Nails on Nails

One of the things I love about fall time is all of the colors that come with it.  What makes those colors even better is that fact that with a little nail polish your fingers can be fall-a-fied.  However getting stuck on what to do to your nails can be though.  Especially considering that in the fall when you type in nail ideas on Google images and YouTube the only things that seems to come up is either Halloween or some version of leaves.  That is great except for the fact that must of us aren't Van Gogh and can't paint our nails like that. One or two fingers may look good but the rest...
So anyways here are some cute nail colors that can spice up your nails without all of the extra added effort.  I know that sometimes nail colors end up looking different in the bottle then on so I have a picture of both for you.
My current all time favorite nail color is the one in the top picture.  It's by Essie and the color is Penny Talk.
It looks really pretty on and only needs one coat.  Another one of my favorite things to do for nails is paint one or two another like in the picture above.  The color I have with it is Essie's color Go Overboard.  It is one of there summer colors from a few summers ago but since it is dark it is a good color to transition into the fall and even into the winter.
The nail color on the left is Go Overboard from above and the color on the right is Material Girl also by Essie.
It's a nice dark purple color that is a must for sweater weather.
The next two colors are also both from Essie and both red but at the same time are actually very different.  (Don't worry not all of the colors will be Essie colors!)
This is the first of the two and it is called Really Red which is funny cause it actually has pink undertones to it.  Another thing about this color is it usually requires two coats or else it appears opaque.  I definitely think that this is a more girly color then some of the other colors for the fall.
This out of the two reds I chose is most definitely my favorite.  It is a very dark red and only one coat of it is needed.  The name of this color is A-List and it is also by Essie.
For my first non-Essie color I picked a Sally Hansen color in the shade Luminous Tulips.
This color while appearing more pinkish in the pictures is actually a light purple color.  The nice thing about this color is that it has a slight sparkle to it without seemingly overbearing.  If you are looking for a girly look but don't want to go for hot pink, then this would be a good color for you.
And finally for the standard fall color of orange. I had two to pick from and lots of places to photograph them. so many that I couldn't decide which picture to use!
The bright orange Sally Hansen color in the shade Sun Kissed I picked up over the summer as a good neon color.  I kind of figured that it would be one of those colors that I used during the summer but that was it.
Turns out I really like it for the fall.  It matched the color of pumpkins and it looks great with the fall leaves on the tree in my backyard! Who knew?
My second orange color in the picture a few up, is actually a color I got really cheap at Five Below a long time ago.  I had kind of forgotten about it until I started looking through my polishes and I really like how it turned out looking!
The color is You're A Nut and its by the brand Funky Fingers.  One of the thing I like about it is that it isn't just your standard orange.  Its got a metallic feel to it and it is perfect for this time of year.
The final two polishes I didn't take pictures of on nails.
The first of the two is a black sparkly color by Nabi in the shade New Black Glitter.  I feel the need to point out how creative they were with the name.  I really like this polish except for the fact that it is really thick so it takes a million years to dry.  Well not really but you get the point.
The second color I don't use much because it is a striper so I never find much use for it. It is Aquarius by Art Club and it is a really pretty color for it you like extra details.  Plus I figured it was a good color to add in since hunter green nail polished and metallic nail polishes are popular this season and it is a mix of both.

Thanks for reading and I Hope you Enjoyed:)
